History<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Genting Highlands was the brainchild of Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong, a visionary entrepreneur. He foresaw the potential of a hill resort near the fast-developing Kuala Lumpur. Construction began in the early 1960s and by 1971, the first hotel along with the casino was inaugurated. Since then, Genting Highlands has evolved and expanded, becoming a major tourist destination in Southeast Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
