Pahang

 

Pahang, the largest state in Peninsula Malaysia is situated on the east coast and has an estimated population of 1,000,000 people, most of which are located in the state capital, Kuantan. Visited by more than 3,000,000 tourists a year, the state has an immense stretch of rainforest older than those of the Congo or the Amazon. The rainforest dominates the state and forms part of the National Park which is one of the highlights of tourism in Malaysia.

Cameron Highlands

Cameron Highlands
Cameron Highlands is one of Malaysia's premier hill resorts. Much of the resorts appeal lies in the neat sprawling tea plantations which date back to 1929, as well as the terraced flower gardens, strawberry farms, orchards and vegetable gardens. Visitors will find nature-based activities of all sorts to suit everyone's mood and level of fitness. The best tourist amenities are sited in or around Tanah Rata and Brinchang. Tasik Cini
Tasik Cini has inspired expeditions because of its many legends. A giant serpent, Naga Seri Gunum, Malaysia's equivalent of Scotland's Loch Ness Monster, is said to reside in the Lake. Archaeologists have seached for the ancient Khmer city believed to be submerged in the water. The best time to visit is between June and September when the lake is covered with pretty pink and white lotus flowers.


Fraser's Hill
Fraser's Hill is a little piece of tranquil English countryside. Tudorstyle grey granite bungalows, remnants of colonial Malaya, are lodged on the hill amid pretty gardens. An excellent place to while away a quiet weekend, Fraser's Hill has peaceful nature trails, and horseback riding and sports facilities.

The National Park or 'Taman Negara' is made of 4,343 square kilometres of lush tropical rainforest that dates back millions of years. Estimated by scientist to be about 130 million years old, the park is home to a myriad of flora and fauna and is high on the itinerary of visitors seeking an experience in a rainforest. Giant trees, limestone caves, excellent fishing spots, exciting river trips, wildlife observation and jungle tracking also makes this park a haven for adventurers from across the globe.
