Sipadan Island

The island of Sipadan is located at the east coast of the state of Sabah and is Malaysia's premier diving site and rated one of the world's best diving locations by Jacques Couteau. Here, divers will be able to swim with sea turtles, spot schools of Hammerhead sharks, and cruise beside giant manta rays as one is diving along a coral wall that plunges 2,000 metres. The variety of marine life on the island of Sipadan is amazing with more than 200 species of fish and 70 species of coral that have been recorded.

Underwater

Due to the islands popularity and fragile ecosystem, the number of divers is limited. Only 80 lucky divers per day will be allowed to have it all from big pelagic fishes, sea turtles, to exquisite hard and soft corals. The island of Sipadan also offers visitors five comfortable dive resorts. Truly, the island of Sipadan offers visitors coral reefs unlike any other in the world. Lying in the middle of the richest marine life in the world, the nation's underwater diversity is awesome.

Visitors will have to fly from Kota Kinabalu to Tawau. From Tawau, take a coach to Semporna and then it is a 30 km sea journey to Sipadan island in the Celebes Sea by boat.
